The first wave of marketing has been put into effect for the new “socializing netbook” from Packard Bell. The new laptop is beautiful and compact with an 8.9″ display, which features 1024×600 pixels, Atom processor, 160GB HDD, 1GB of RAM, 5-in-1 card reader, integrated webcam, and optional 3G. The Packard Bell Dot is set to be released in November in Europe with an affordable starting price of less than $600. No information is available yet as to when the laptop will be available in the United States.
