DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. It ruined my Macbook. I had to pay $500 to have the motherboard replaced after attempting to use this battery.

This battery has a rated capacity of 5000 mAh. I have completely discharged and recharged it 14 times and I still can’t get it to hold more than 3821 mAh. I may return it.
Fits tight in my MacBook Pro 15″.
The written instructions which accompany this battery are horrible. Obviously written by someone who barely speaks English.

Prior reviews note this battery’s poor fit and finish, which I also noticed (it was a bit too tight and had to be wedged in), but for a couple hundred dollars in savings I could tolerate that. However, the battery also doesn’t hold a reasonable charge, and that makes it unacceptable. Its maximum capacity (as reported by the system diagnostics) was only 5000 mAh, not the advertised 5800; even worse, after only four loadcycles it holds less than 4000 mAh — if this is what happens in one week, what will happen in a year? (I did go through the initial three full-charge/hold/deep-discharge cycles the instructions recommended.)
I considered getting a replacement from Amazon, but after re-reading the other reviews and thinking about my own experience, I decided that this product is just one to stay away from.
Isn’t there a market for someone to make a *good* replacement at a price lower than Apple’s?

I was leary about purchasing this battery but the price won out and I bought it. Right off the bat I knew this was not as described. After putting the battery through three charge / discharge cycles it’s capacity was only 3200 mwhr. I know a thing or two about li-ion batteries as I use them extensively both for work and in some of my hobbies. These batteries do not have memory issues and as the battery was never drained past 3.0 volts / cell nor was it over charged I have to assume that it was defective or is not comprised of battery cells totally 5000 mwhr. I will not buy this item again. The battery that I purchased from Amazon was shipped by Amazon and therefore the return policy was top-notch.
